Bounty

Behind the Scenes, picking apart the Bounty album

Bounty

  • A sum paid for k*lling or  capturing a person

The entire album is meant to be a reflection how I was feeling at the time. I had songs that I had made months ago but  was waiting for the perfect line up to actually release something I was proud of. I had gotten out of a relationship where I genuinely gave it my all and lost myself for a while. I was trying to bounce back to my normal self but kept getting a sense of determination, almost like there was a new meaning in my life. I used that to help me make harder songs, more confident songs that I actually enjoyed listening to. A general breakdown of the album goes like the rest of my albums, all in chunks about 3-4 songs before it switches topics. The start of the album talks about replacing or getting rid of something/someone that had been around or bothering me. Feeling like I'm invincible (queue title card) and able to do whatever I feel like doing since I wasn't limited by anyone now. Die Today serves as an interlude like a reflection on what I was saying before it snaps back to Double Trouble, using a completely different pitch in my voice to rap. Pretty much the entire album from Enemies onwards is just me talking my sh*t. I felt good around that time and wanted others to know that too. With that being said, this is a lyrical breakdown or general breakdown of each song on Bounty.

3 AM

Starting off by referencing what was happening to me in real life at the time. I kept waking up at 3 in the morning without explanation, literally just having nightmares constantly after the break up and waking up to her voice yelling out my name. It was such a weird time in my life since everything felt so strange, like a dream I couldn't control at all. Referencing her on my phone since she'd intentionally done things for me to see, what a dumb move. Every time I'd wake up I would feel numb for a couple seconds and be entirely in a haze, not knowing why I was even awake in the first place. I knew where I needed to be and home was not it, knowing that I could never be where I had to be again I wrote, "I woke up in a GT3 and a Hellcat tryna find my way back" since even with all the stuff around me, I could never get back to her. The demons I reference in the song would literally just be images of her that would flash in my mind, I warned her that if she didn't change then we wouldn't last long but she never listened. I'd throw in a hint of humor to not kill the mood entirely but my statement was still serious. She had lied straight to my face multiple times and thought I was dumb enough to believe it, wasting my time and space. She had a couple pretty friends so I was considering going after one of them but like Kong Qui once said, "The man who chases two rabbits, catches neither". Game recognize game so I listen to what he says.

Adenosine

A song meant to be in a similar spirit to Ruger, starting off with "On that Halloween sh*t" and "Say he got beef with me" immediately setting the tone for violence. It's basically an entire song about me flexing what I have and my accomplishments. Everything that I'm proud of and working on, both being an athletic achievement but a professional ret*rd as well. John Paul Getty was the father of JPG III (haha like the image format) who was held for ransom. Millions of dollars were asked for the release of his song and bro straight up thought he was lying so they cut his ear off and sent it to his father. Play with my money and you'll get turned into the McDonald's Fries cooking oil. Anyways, Adenosine is a medicine that is usually injected into a patient when their heart rate is way higher than it needs to be so it literally turns their heart off, then back on. The song goes on to describe jumping someone (C.I.A style) and kindly offering them a brand new hairstyle free of charge.

Bounty

Going over the idea of never doing any wrongs, standing my ground and waiting for people to turn their heads so I can make my moves. In reality, the song talks about having a bounty on someone, that person being myself. I go into detail about how 100K would be enough to buy myself a new car. Implying that even if it means ending another version of the person I knew, I'll get to my goals by any means. Taking a moment to appreciate everything that my Dad's done for me and help me out as well. Even with myself in the way, I got to find way past it all even if it means leaving myself behind. Being nice enough to wave goodbye but not enough to keep myself alive. The song was made while I was still in a relationship, I'm sure you can guess what part references that.

Crooks

July 13th, 2024 Thomas Mathew Crooks attempted to assassinate Donald J. Trump during one of his rallies. Dude was millimeters away from getting a clip and got mag dumped instead. I made this song inspired by that and the idea of surpassing expectations even when people are actively plotting on me failing. Taking the problem into my own hands and solving it, talking to the people that wouldn't stay quiet and putting it to rest. While people listen to my music, the real ones that decipher it get to enjoy the real meaning behind every bar.  Not too much more to describe about the song other than the word play on a couple bars.
